Hawk 38, a new generation of luxury sports boats for Sunseeker

Hawk 38, sports dayboat from Sunseeker shipyard

18 years ago, the English manufacturer Sunseeker worked with FB Design on the XS2000 and XS Sport, high-performance racing boats. In 2019, on the strength of this experience, the luxury yacht manufacturer launched a new sports dayboat model, the Hawk 38. The shipyard has worked on performance by creating a very luxurious small racing boat with top-of-the-range materials. Then fast dayboat or superyacht tender, it's up to you.

62 knots of max speed

The Hawk 38 is an 11.85 m sports dayboat designed in collaboration with Fabio Buzzi Design, winner of 43 world speed records and 55 world championships. Its step hull coupled with two Mercury 400R outboards should give it an incredibly fast speed of 62 knots (115 km/h). Other outboard models will also be available on order.

The hull has been optimized to take advantage of the latest outboard engine technology, offering both performance and maintenance benefits. It should also reduce vibration and noise, roll and ensure comfort and safety, even at high speeds. Hypalon 866 STAB® floats are installed (standard) on the sides of the hull at the stern to provide additional protection and stabilize the boat at anchor or when boarding.

Laziness at the front, sport at the back

The layout of the foredeck is quite different from what we usually know and follows the layout that we see in the aft cockpit. There is a large sunbathing area with raised head restraints at the bow (and an optional bimini), immediately followed by a U-shaped square installed around a carbon (or painted) table that can be set up and folded up in a matter of seconds.

The steering station is central protected by a large windscreen with side lapels and extended by a rigid carbon fibre T-top. The steering console is equipped with a Simrad navigation system and the 16-inch Evo 3 multifunction display with GPS and Wifi functions. From the interface, it will also be possible to control the on-board electrical systems such as lighting (LED colour effects), batteries, pumps and LED navigation lights.

Regarding driving, the Hawk 38 will be equipped with a power steering system (Mercury), which operates as for cars and a throttle Mercury Racing Digital Zero Effort.

The toilet compartment is located under the helm station and accessible from the front, with a basin unit and a stainless steel sink.

The rear of the console is dedicated to driving with four FB Design racing bolster seats designed for speed and performance. The occupants can remain seated or standing comfortably and safely, ensures the site. A triple bench seat (with two optional refrigerators with drawers installed underneath) completes the cockpit layout. Also noteworthy is the very large rear platform that allows easy movement around the engines.

On board, there will be many storage spaces, such as on the bow, to accommodate many toys, such as two Seabob and their loading station fixed on the bulkhead. The central trunk can accommodate the liferaft or an inflatable paddle.

A luxury boat

Sunseeker has taken great care in the finishing and design details of the Hawk 38 with a wide choice of finishes and coatings (paint). Details are also focused on performance with carbon fiber handrails, retractable cleats, a custom audio system with speakers installed on the bathing platform and even underwater.
