Esquel, a sophisticated exploration superyacht

Oceanco is known for its achievements in the world of large yachting and in particular for its well thought-out and rather successful concepts. The Monegasque presents its new project, a 105 m superyacht expedition called Esquel.

The Monegasque shipyard Oceanco has just revealed its new 105 m (345 feet) project, the Esquel expedition superyacht. For this new design, the manufacturer has surrounded itself with several contributors, starting with the designer Timur Bozca, known for his many superyacht designs and his recent award as Young Designer of the Year, an international competition for the yachting industry. The list of speakers is completed by designer Gina Brennan, Lateral Naval Architects and Engineering and Pelorus, a leading company specializing in superyacht travel and expeditions.

With its displacement hull and vertical bow, Esquel was designed for long-distance cruises in remote areas, from the North to the South Pole and across all the seas that cover the globe.

The ship is a perfect blend of exploration yachts and sophisticated superyachts, as explained by Dirk de Jong, Sales Director at Oceanco. "It offers all the aesthetics, fittings, interior and exterior finishes and attention to technical details that are undeniable for all Oceanco."

A development dedicated to exploration

Esquel offers a 230 m2 tender garage, in which will be stored semi-rigid rapids, various tenders, water toys and all the diving equipment.

On the 200 m2 main flush deck, the glass superstructure at the stern houses an indoor swimming pool and a wellness area with panoramic views.

On this bridge, there is also plenty of space to store various sealed containers, additional tenders and off-road vehicles.

The superyacht can also be transformed into a study base for marine biology, for example, thanks to its very flexible configuration. Additional multi-purpose spaces, a first aid area, conference spaces and research offices can be added.

Oceanco has worked extensively with Pelorus to understand the needs of travelling to remote areas such as Patagonia or Greenland. For this reason, Esquel was designed and built to transport and deploy two submarines, a land vehicle and motorcycles, as well as to accommodate a helicopter. It can also be equipped with laboratories for scientific experiments and explorations.

But Esquel is not only a superyacht expedition, but also the ideal yacht to shine in society. While the exterior is quite masculine and modern, the interior - designed by interior designer Gina Brennan - is warm and elegant, with comfortable furniture to make you feel at home. " The ambition behind the general aspect of Esquel's interior design is to represent the life, influences and home of a young explorer. It will be an eclectic mix of antiques and art objects found on his travels."

Esquel is equipped with the latest generation diesel-electric propulsion, compact and durable to navigate autonomously throughout the world. With its reinforced hull and Polar classification, it has a range of 7?000 miles and can reach a top speed of 16.5 knots.
