Les Canalous is the last manufacturer/renter of river boats in France. Indeed under this brand hides a shipyard which still builds boats for leisure navigation on rivers.
Dedicated boats for river rentals
With its Tarpon range (from 32 to 49 feet) and since 2015, its new Pénichette model (15 m), Les Canalous can offer all sizes of boats from 2 to 6 cabins depending on the size of the crew.
All the boats are built in France in the Chantier Polyester du Centre, right next to the rental base in Digoin.
In addition, Les Canalous works with foreign rental companies, which allows it to be present in 10 countries with a network of 40 bases in Europe!
Three ranges for more comfort
Depending on their comfort equipment, the boats are divided into ranges. For the less fortunate, the LowCost range allows you to discover this type of vacation on the water at a lower price. Count from 350euros a week for a couple. The Classic range offers more comfort with, in particular, sheets on board for sleeping. Finally, the Premium range offers fully equipped boats with air conditioning, dishwasher, coffee machine, plancha on the deck and bathroom and kitchen linen provided. This is the all-inclusive offer that allows you to spend a carefree vacation.
A tourism that attracts more and more
River tourism is becoming more democratic. It attracts young people, groups, families or couples. If this type of vacation is becoming more and more popular, it is because it is accessible to all without any nautical skills. Indeed, on the morning of your departure, an agent of the base comes to put the boat in your hand, to make with you some maneuvers and to accompany you if necessary for the passage of the first lock.

All electric for 2019
Les Canalous is testing a new Pénichette powered solely by an electric motor. Thanks to an initiative by VNF, which has installed 10 fast charging stations in Alsace (approximately every 10 km), it is now possible to consider electric propulsion without difficulty. The Penichette of the S class (as in Silence) has the autonomy to navigate for 6 hours. At each stop, whether at noon or in the evening, it can be plugged in at the quay (slow charge with a conventional charger) or at the fast charging stations (recharge in 2 to 3 hours).
Thus equipped, it is possible to navigate without a sound while enjoying all the usual comfort. Foreign clients seem to be very fond of this formula.
