The American shipyard Bayliner has decided to give a boost to its model 742 Cuddy by launching a sporty version called "R". This 24-foot (7.48 m) model stands out from its "twin brother" by a new punchy design and a colourful upholstery (here red and grey, but other colours are available), top-of-the-range standard equipment (bimini, windlass, thruster, kitchen...) and a higher maximum engine capacity (350 HP instead of 250 HP).
This dayboat has all the necessary equipment for a comfortable sea trip with a sunbathing area at the back. The starboard side of the seat rises to allow access to the interior of the cockpit without stepping on the cushions and tilts to benefit from a deck chair.
In the cockpit, there is a beautiful L-shaped bench seat with a removable backrest on the port side to adjust the layout. A dining table and a fully equipped kitchen on starboard (refrigerator, sink, stove) allow you to take your meals on board.
The cockpit is equipped with a comfortable and wide bench seat with the possibility of standing upright driving and is well protected by the large windscreen with central opening. The front axle can be equipped - as an option - with an additional sunbathing area.
Under the deck, there is a saloon that can be converted into a double berth for a night on board as well as a marine toilet. On the engine side, the 742 R can accommodate 250 to 350 inboard hp.
By redesigning the design - colours, basic equipment - and offering a larger engine, Bayliner succeeded in offering a rather attractive sporty version of its 742 Cuddy. In terms of equipment and facilities, there is everything you need to spend a day or a family or a long weekend together, thanks to the berth under the bridge.
