Web series / Pushed by the Wind: discovering the Guyanese jungle

Sarah, Aurélien and Nael continue their discovery of French Guiana with this time, the ascent of the Maroni River to the town of Saint-Laurent-de-Maroni, known for its former penal colony. The opportunity to discover a little more the Guyanese jungle...

In this 27th episode of Poussé par le Vent, Sarah, Aurélien and Nael leave the Salvation Islands to reach Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, a town in French Guiana on the banks of the Maroni River, on the border with Suriname. The city is known to be a former penal colony, and notably for its Transportation Camp, which Sarah proposes us to discover.

But before that, you have to reach the city by sailing on the river where the depth is only 2.50 m (with areas at 1.6 m). A"sensitive" moment for Aurélien, with great caution!

But once there, the game will be worth the candle with a return to the colonial past, the meeting with Hmong (or Mong), a people of Asia, native of the mountainous regions of southern China, a night in a carbet, learning survival techniques and hunting in the forest, an awakening in the heart of the jungle surrounded by howler monkeys or the discovery of the small village of Ayawandé, inhabited by a family who lives from basketry, sewing... and feeds on their hunting and fishing...

After French Guiana - which pleased Maloya's crew a lot - we are now heading for Martinique!
