It is an initiative of Lucie and Nessim with their friend Philippe. This couple travels on their Dream of the West Indies in steel. Arriving in Martinique, wet in Grande-Anse, they quickly realize that supplying bread in this area is tricky. There are no shops nearby.

With their respective experience in the restaurant and hotel business, they developed a concept: La Popotte qui Flotte. It's all about making and delivering meals to boats at anchor. Starting at the beginning by offering just bread and buns, they end up offering a complete meal with main course and dessert.

And, what started out as a fun adventure becomes a small business... Some nights, it's more than 20 meals served. You have to get organized. With a car and a refrigerator on land, the supply is made every week. From 2pm, you have to get into the kitchen.

And that's where Lucie works miracles, because the kitchen of an 11-metre sailboat doesn't really look like a piano in a big restaurant! But with inventive recipes and creativity, anything seems possible.

The recipes make you salivate: ginger chicken with giraumon rice, turnip duck with fried potato, shrimp colombo and its sauteed vegetable noodles... without forgetting the desserts: pineapple pie with almond cream and pastry cream, chocolate cake like mummy, pineapple crumble, jar of chocolate cream for the gourmands..

By offering generous portions and very affordable prices (10 euros for the main course and 3 euros for the dessert with 2 euros for delivery) the Popotte qui Flotte quickly wins customers. Orders are taken by VHF and you can either have your food delivered or pick it up.

After 2 months of winter spent feasting the sailors, La Popotte qui Flotte weighed anchor. It was a good experience to inflate the ship's box and make some great encounters. For the moment the voyage continues, but no doubt that La Popotte qui Flotte will soon be back in the sandstone of a new stopover.
