The Boot Düsseldorf was the opportunity to discover a beautiful daysailer, the Saffier SE 37 Lounge. This elegant 12 m sailboat (with an outside end) is characterized by its very large cockpit, but above all by its wheel steering brought to the front, at the rear of the cabin. Two distinct spaces in the same cockpit. With this configuration, the rest of the cockpit remains free for the crew, who can thus enjoy the pleasure of sailing. The winches are brought back to the helm station, allowing the helmsman to do all the manoeuvres without cluttering the cockpit with the ropes. Storage spaces are also provided in the consoles of the steering station to store all these ends. There are also clever footrests hidden in the cockpit floor, easy to install by pulling on one end, which allow the helmsman to sail comfortably, sitting on the decks.

The aft end of the cockpit therefore has enough space to create a large lounge. Large side benches and a bench in the back (under which there are four storage compartments) invite you to relax. A retractable electric table (stored in the cockpit floor) can accommodate up to 10 people for dinner. A configuration appreciated at anchor or in port. A fridge and a hidden grill at the front complete the exterior equipment. For the comfort side, however, it will be necessary to add options since the boat is delivered without cushions, tables or external kitchen equipment

Open to the outside world, the Saffier SE 37 Lounge nevertheless has a comfortable cabin. The height under the beam is not very high, but sufficient to rest. At the forward end there is a large berth, benches all along the bulwarks, a small kitchen on the port side with cooking facilities (electric induction hob) and a coffee corner, which will be used at anchor instead, and a toilet with shower (optional). The large access to the cabin provides a lot of light inside, but above all a good visibility on the outside, thus linking the two spaces. There are many storage spaces on board, under the benches, but also in the bathroom.

Concerning the performance under sail, the yard announces speeds higher than the hull speed, in particular with a Code 0 or a gennaker established on the bowsprit. With a central steering station, the skipper can easily manage all manoeuvres thanks to the electric or manual winches and the steering with two wheel steering.

The Saffier SE 37 Lounge is built with a vacuum infused fibreglass hull and a sandwich deck with carbon reinforcements in the central part of the deck and roof bulkhead. As standard, the keel has a draught of 2.10 m, but a longer (2.60 m) or shorter (1.70 m) keel is available, as well as a lifting keel.
