Motorboat navigation: two students build a safety message

Security is everyone's business. And when you want to put forward solutions to navigate with less danger, what could be better than jumping into the water? This is the video proposed by two students to show some of the dangers of motorboating, and the solutions to be implemented to avoid and repair them.

They are 2 students in Licence Pro Nautisme et Métiers de la Mer in Lorient. As part of this year of training, they have to carry out a project during their 6 months of classes. The theme of their project: Safety at sea associated with the practice of motorboating. Indeed, after studying, they realized that many accidents are due to a poor knowledge of the practice and that a few simple reminders such as wearing a lifejacket, the importance of the ladder to get back on board or not forgetting the circuit breaker are always good to remember.

While searching the web, these students did not find any really didactic video to explain these safety rules. For lack of anything better, they went out to sea, with their (small) means to put themselves on stage and explain the right rules.

Today, this video is online. Our students are looking to broadcast it to as many people as possible (hence the contact with Bateaux.com). Indeed, in less than 2 weeks (beginning of March 2018), they will give their oral exams and hope to present to their teachers a high viewing rate, proving - if need be - the importance of repeating this safety message.

At Bateaux.com, we are associated with the project (and hope they pass their exams!) because we firmly believe that safety at sea is everyone's business. And that every little stone that is laid in this area will make sailing safer tomorrow.
