Stigo, the design and fun electric scooter that reaches 25 km/h

Stigo, the folding electric scooter

When you're sailing and then getting back to land, the question of how to get around is not always easy to answer when you take a bike on board. Here's a rather nice and easy to use alternative, Stigo, a 14 kg electric scooter that folds and unfolds in 2 seconds!

Stigo is a small 14 kg Estonian electric scooter that folds up easily and quickly, winner of the EDF Pulse competition in 2014. Just pull on the saddle to open it and off you go! Folded up, thanks to its handle, all you have to do is pull it behind you, like a suitcase. Thanks to its small dimensions - 40x48 cm upright and folded - it can be easily stored anywhere. Quite practical on a boat, when space is limited.

"It's the only registered scooter in this class that can be driven on the road" explains Olivier from BigToysOnBoard, the importer. And indeed, the maximum speed of 25 km/h is easily reached, not bad for an electric moped.

Depending on the version, the Stigo has a range of 15 or 40 km. The 5.8 Ah or 11.6 Ah battery (depending on the version) can be recharged from a simple electrical outlet in 3 hours.

A dedicated application

A dedicated application - the Stigo App - available on the App Store and Google play, allows you to manage the scooter from your phone or tablet. You can update the software, follow its route and know the number of kilometers traveled or use the GPS..

Easy to use

Using Stigo is child's play. The interface dial is pressed to turn on the power before placing the electronic key on the sensor. The fixed pedals unfold and act as footrests. Then you step over it like a scooter. Note that the seat is not height adjustable.

The throttle is on the right, as on motorcycles, while the brake levers operate a disc brake at the rear and a shoe brake at the front. As on the bikes, there is a horn, lighting at the plate, a headlight and a side stand.

The Stigo is easy to use and drive, even if a little dry when starting. With its sleek design and playful use, it's a nice way to get around without getting tired. Its small size and its folding side, which is quick to use, are an asset for boating.

The Stigo is available in two versions:

  • STIGO, EUR 1 595 (14 kg, 25 km/h, 15 km range)
  • STIGO+, EUR 1 895 (15,3 kg, 25 km/h, 40 km range).

Considered as an electrically powered two-wheeler, it benefits from an ecological bonus of 200 euros or local subsidies.
