The French fittings manufacturer has just completed its range of Proline lanyards with a model that can be released under load. For this purpose, it has developed a new stainless steel carabiner allowing to release itself under load in case of emergency. This request has been made by some users who need to free themselves from their lanyard to avoid getting stuck under the boat (man overboard, capsizing...).
This Proline'R lanyard has all the features of the range, namely a narrow webbing and an ultra-light carabiner. It is precisely this carabiner that makes this product so interesting.
Built in anodized aluminum, it is probably the lightest on the market. Its large opening makes it easy to hang. The finger with a beak design is designed for hanging even on flat deck straps. Locking is automatic and unlocking and opening is done with one hand. In addition, this carabiner is removable so that the strap can be replaced to extend the life of the product.
It was also this strap replacement that required a special design of the load-releasable carabiner. Indeed, in order to be able to change the strap, it was necessary to make it with a removable pin.
This lanyard is available with one or two strands. A ring created just after the carabiner allows you to transform it into a 2-strand lanyard very easily. You can choose a lanyard with a rubber band and the second strand for a shorter mooring. All strands are equipped with an overload indicator with integrated shock absorber.
