Seven months ago, Hugo started renovating his Sea Foam. Not just a clean shot! A renovation from top to bottom in the rules of the art. A titanic work done with relentlessness by its young owner.
For that he had not hesitated to put the boat on the ground of a close friend of Montpellier. Around the boat, in the heart of the forest, he had set up his shipyard. A simple tent to accommodate the workshop and a wooden structure, a gantry, for handling the boat. With these very basic arrangements, he was able to sketch, repaint the hull or redo the deck.
But today, Hugo repatriates his sailboat to the water's edge. The launch will take place in Bouzigues on the Thau pond. But first, you have to tidy up, prepare the boat and above all move this ephemeral workshop. A big piece that asks all Hugo's friends and family for help.
Then comes road transport. It's always impressive to see his sailboat of a few tons walking on wheels. But it is also a little scary given the very precarious quality of the road. Not to mention that you have to prepare the way by pruning the trees before passing this special convoy. Fortunately everything went well and the boat was dropped off at the yard for its final finishing touches before returning to its element: water!
And Hugo to have the last word of the first part of this adventure:"I can't say I'm sad, but a page is turning..." Now it's time to mast, launch and the first sea trials. But Patience, it will be for the next episode..
