The 37th French Underwater Photo Championship, organized by the French Federation for Underwater Studies and Sports (FFESSM) was held in Marseille from 13 to 16 September 2017. Organized each year in France, in different locations, the championship takes place over 3 days, with several rounds of 3 hours, on a defined dive site.
The photographer, accompanied by an assistant model, must then deal with the underwater environment to produce a photo highlighting the fauna and flora, but also take into account the diving conditions, his artistic sense and the lack of communication. Each competitor must submit 6 images to the jury:
- 2 pictures of the atmosphere,
- a mobile wildlife environment,
- a macro fish,
- a non-fish macro
- a close-up on a given theme
Here, in pictures, is the podium of this 37th edition.
