All haloed with the launch of its Bavaria C57 at the Cannes 2016 show, Bavaria is announcing a larger model in the same range this year. Thus, at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017 visitors will be able to discover the Bavaria C65, a prestigious unit, the largest model of the German shipyard.

A market that is on the rise
The market for large units over 55 feet is largely occupied by all major construction sites. The Bavaria C65 comes to compete (presented in order of appearance on the market): Bénéteau Océanis Yachts 62, Jeanneau Yachts 54, Hanse 675, Dufour 63 Exclusive.

Dedicated to the pleasure at sea
The cockpit is full of relaxation. The entire area in front of the two wheelsets is reserved for guests. Now with the classic cockpit tables that delimit a passage to the descent, you can easily rest without being disturbed by the manoeuvre. All common manoeuvres return to the stern directly accessible by the helmsman. Nothing runs on the deck, everything goes through hidden trunks from the passengers.

In terms of performance, the Bavaria C65 will be equipped with a self-steering jib with the rail integrated in the front axle and the furling system installed under the deck. This configuration makes manoeuvring easier (nothing to do during tacking), but does not help the downwind leg (jib too small). It will then be necessary to rely on a 288 m2 gennaker (all the same...) to move the 25 tonnes of the boat downwind.

An XXL bath beach
The transom unfolds to create a large swimming platform. Access from the cockpit is on the port side with a staircase of a few steps. The open platform gives access to the annex garage. Also note the position of the liferaft to starboard, which will be easy to launch in the event of distress.

3 or 4 cabins
The facilities include 3 beautiful double cabins with the possibility of adding a crew cabin with 2 bunk beds. In any case, the skipper to his cabin in the forehead.

For his front cabin, the owner will have the choice between a very large bathroom, a dressing room or an office. Everything will depend on his wife or his willingness to continue working while sailing...

Visible in Cannes?
The yard announces that the first unit is under construction and that the official launch will be made in Cannes in September 2017 (as for the Bavaria C57 last year) but will the boat be ready and presented to the public? Nothing is less certain...
