Triptych 23.2, a small trimaran that is really habitable

Triptych 23.2

What if we chose a trimaran for the cruise? These small boats have many cards in their deck for a coastal programme. Like the Triptyque 23.2, we will detail the pleasure of sailing on these boats.

Speed and fun at the helm

Trimarans are known for their performance under sail. It is not for nothing that the fastest racing boats today are trimarans. Just look at the Ultims that go around the world in less than 50 days! Fast, but also safe (unlike the catamaran). Leaning on the leeward hull, the trimaran accelerates without forcing.

Reaching 10 knots on a small trimaran like the Triptych 23.2 is commonplace. This type of sailboat often moves twice as fast as its monohull counterpart. Faster, the stages pass more quickly and a longer journey can be envisaged.

At the helm, the trimaran is a real toy. The helmsman has strong sensations and can act with precision on the accelerations. Well balanced, the trimaran is a real pleasure for sailing purists.

The shallow draft

The coastal sailing program makes you want to get as close to the coast as possible. And what better way to get close to the beach than with a dinghy? With daggerboards on the floats and a lifting rudder, the Triptyque 23.2 can almost land the crew with their feet dry. And in congested anchorages, the right places will be available to you!

Transportation

A trimaran has no ballast. It is therefore light. Look at the Triptyque 23.2: 7 m long and only 850 kg on the scales. A monohull of the same size must carry ballast to ensure its stability. And on the trailer towed behind the car, this is strongly felt on the road. The same applies to all the handling of the boat when it is put in and out of the water. Pulling up a light boat is less of a punishment.

Of course, it is necessary to choose a folding trimaran. With its linking arms that slide into each other, the Triptyque 23.2's beam is reduced from 4.85 m to 2.20 m.

In addition, the Triptych 23.2 is equipped with a mast chair system that allows a single man to do the handling without risk.

Space on board

With its trampolines on each side of the central hull, the trimaran offers a large living space whether at anchor or even at sea (although in this case, the trampolines are often watered). It is pleasant and above all reassuring. Indeed, these square meters on each side of the hull give a feeling of security when maneuvering in the cockpit.

Living space

This is often the black spot of the trimaran. The habitability is in the central hull. However, for reasons of performance, this hull must be as narrow as possible. On the Triptyque 23.2, the architect has solved the problem by creating two large recesses above the waterline. On the outside, they are used to accommodate the floats which are stowed underneath when the boat is folded. Inside, this offers a very large living space. In addition, the height of the deckhouse has been increased to offer a height of 1.80 m. Never seen in this category of boat.

The cabin of the Triptyque 23.2 accommodates 4 real beds: 2 single berths of 70 cm wide and a double berth in the forepeak of 1.60 m wide at the head of the bed. In addition, the boat has numerous storage spaces: 1 locker in the cabin (0.50 X 0.70 m), 2 lockers in the cockpit (0.70 X 1.00 m), 1 locker under the skirt (0.70 X 1.50 m) and storage spaces under the bunks. Thus equipped, the Triptyque 23.2 is ready to cruise!

Stability

Do you have a boat that leans? Want to sail flat? The trimaran remains stable when sailing, but also when anchored âeuros and this is important at the time of the apéritif! Young and old alike will appreciate the comfort when sailing.
