To encourage young people to board boats, VogAvecMoi offers 18-25 year olds a free registration on their site. VogAvecMoi is a platform that connects skippers with crew members. A sort of modern crew exchange.
More vacancies than crew members
Today, no less than 10,000 people have subscribed to the site, of which around 40% are boat owners (the rest are crew members). On this site, owners offer to join their cruise, a sea trip that ranges from day or weekend cruises (most offers) to summer cruises of a week or more, or even a long short sea trip (there are also transatlantic cruises).
With almost 4,000 boats looking for crew members, there is a shortage of crew members today. Users of VogAvecMoi say they are surprised to see that their request for boarding is almost always accepted.
Free registration for 18-25 year olds
Initially, one can register on the site without paying, but in this case, the crew member is considered as an observer and although he can consult the announcements, he cannot contact the skipper directly. To have access to the skippers, the user must pay a subscription which amounts to 60 euros per year (or 12 euros per month). It is precisely this subscription that VogAvecMoi proposes to offer to young people for the 2 months of July and August 2017. Thus all 18-25 year olds who register on the site between 1 and 30 June 2017 will not have to pay any subscription. All that will be left to do is to contribute to the cost of the cruise (one boat out of two asks for a participation limited to 30 euros/day/person) and to the boarding fees (supplies, fuel, port fees).

In addition, Tribord is joining this initiative by offering to reward 9 participants with branded clothing packages. To choose the winners, the brand has chosen to give preference to the participants who will have the most different embarkations during the summer (and not the most sailing days). The comments and notices posted for these participants will be paramount in the final selection.
Encouraging young people to sail
