A little brother at Wimbi Boats with the W7i

The new W7i by Wimbi Boat, to be discovered in September 2017, in Cannes

Wimbi Boats, the semi-rigid boat brand from Australia, continues to develop its range with the W7i (which will be available in an outboard version), which will be previewed in Cannes in September 2017. Discover this new model.

After the launch of the largest models: the W9i in 2014, the W9 (9.20 m), the W10 and 10i (10.50 m) in 2016, Wimbi Boats has decided to tackle the sub-6.99m size segments. After the launch of the W6 (6.50 m), presented at the Grand Pavois boat show at the end of 2016, the brand is now preparing to present the W7 (7.99 m) at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017. Like its big brothers, it will be declined in inboard and outboard versions.

With a hull length of 6.89 m, the W7i (i for inboard) is not subject to the infamous francisation tax), but nevertheless has an overall length of almost 8 m. While the first flow studies with architects had begun in 2015, the project was truly launched in 2016. The W7i uses the same concept as the W9 and W10, with a swim platform at the stern and the square at the bow, as well as the pronounced V-shaped hull.

This 8-meter unit is a true "mini-yacht" with a wide 1-meter rear bathing platform and a 1.30-meter sundeck. It has almost as many options and comforts as the W9i. The saloon in the front allows for lunch, but also converts into an additional sunbathing area.

Transportable on a trailer, it is easy to launch and can accommodate up to 8 people on board, although its category B approval allows it to carry 14 passengers.

Three engine choices will be available:

  • Ballad (200 HP)
  • Cruise (250 HP)
  • Sporty (300 HP)

The first launches of the W7i and the W7 (outboard version) will take place in June, for the first tests and engine certification. A fishing version of this model will then be offered. The outboard and inboard models will be previewed at the Cannes boat show and the first units delivered in January 2018. Let's hope that, like the previous models, the W7 will be as efficient and comfortable.
