Innovation: the floating cap

Marinum, a floating cap

Tired of losing your cap while sailing? With the Marinum, a cap that flies away is a cap that floats. It's easy to fish it out

We knew about the hat clip that prevents your headgear from falling into the water. Attached to its collar, the cap stays on when it flies off. But this ribbon is not always aesthetic. Marinum, a French company created in 2016 invented the floating cap. With it, if your cap flies away while sailing, you don't have to worry: it floats!

For this purpose, the caps are equipped with visors made of closed-cell foam: A patented solution. The intermediate layer is composed of a technical foam which gives the cap this famous buoyancy. The upper and lower layers have the role of protecting this foam and giving a shape to the visor.

On the cap, the visor is not too thick, can be folded and, above all, is machine washable. The technology is now available on a range of caps and hats (bob type) from 20 to 25 euros.
