Web series / Large worksite on a sea foam for the Hugo transatlantic race

On his 1973 Sea Foam, Hugo wants to do a Transat. But before eating a mile, he decided to redo his Finot plan. And when Hugo undertakes work, he doesn't do things halfway

We sometimes get a little crazy projects in the editorial department. When Hugo sent us a picture of his Sea Scum surmounted by a massive tree portico, we were largely intrigued. That's an unusual construction site And as Hugo tells his story on video, we decided to share it with you.

This is the story of Hugo who meets Ann Alé in October 2013. This 1973 Sea Foam is reaching out to him. He buys it and sails with it for 2 years in the Mediterranean and even lives on it for a period before the project of a deckchair comes to trot in his head.

But Ann Alé ("It's gone" in Creole) asks for a little renovation before taking off. Since nothing seemed to frighten Hugo, he embarked on the major work on the boat: epoxy treatment of the hull and keel, freeing to redo the keel joint (sole), change the varangues, re-examine the deck, redo the electricity, install a gantry for the solar panels, repair of the deck/hull connection. Installation of an inboard engine... and much more.

The objective: launch of the boat in June 2017 to sail in the Mediterranean in summer, then leave for the Atlantic in autumn.

And for the readers of Bateaux.com, Hugo will share his work and adventures with us afterwards. This is the first video presenting the project. Before the more detailed ones of the renovation.
