Crazy idea: The Titanic reopens its doors!

Wreck Titanic

The London-based travel agency Blue Marble, which specialises in designing exclusive top-of-the-range trips, is now offering a tour of the Titanic, whose wreck lies 4,000 m below the surface. Tempted by the experience?

On April 14, 1912, the Titanic on its maiden voyage collided with an iceberg four days after leaving Southampton, England. The liner, originally scheduled to sail to New York City, sank a few hours later off Newfoundland, killing between 1490 and 1520 people.

For 105 years, history has been fascinating and everyone wants a piece of the pie: films, reproductions, books, animations... are regularly produced. The London travel agency "Blue Marble" also has the opportunity to tap into this vein, but by offering a rather unusual experience!

In 2018, the agency will propose an 8-day trip to discover the mythical wreck. Only 9 privileged people will be able to discover the wreck from Canada. Additional experiences will be planned in 2019.

These divers of a new kind will dive to a depth of 4,000 m in a titanium and carbon fibre submarine specially designed for the occasion. The group will be guided by an expert crew to explore the ship's deck and the famous grand staircase.

The expedition will take place by day or night, depending on conditions, alongside explorers and scientists.

"Many more people have had the opportunity to go into space or to the top of Everest than inside the wreckage of the Titanic. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience and an expedition designed for those with a true spirit of adventure." concludes the agency.

It's an incredible experience, but not for everyone, as this week's closest match to the Titanic will cost $105,000 (97,800 euros), according to the Huffington Post.
