Baltic Yachts launches its range of motor yachts

The new motor yacht range from Baltic Yachts

The Finnish shipyard Baltic Yachts took advantage of Boot Düsseldorf to announce the launch of its new Baltic Motor Yachts division, which will include superyachts, but also day cruisers, designed in collaboration with the British studio Design Unlimited.

Baltic Yachts is a Finnish shipyard specializing in the construction of luxurious composite sailing yachts up to 200 feet (60 m). Its reputation is well established as its order book for sailing yachts is complete. To diversify - and increase its capital and growth - the shipyard has announced the launch of a new motor yacht division: Baltic Motor Yachts.

This decision follows the refit of Sunny Day, a classic 24.7 m (81 ft) motor yacht from 1989, owned by Hans Georg Näder, the owner of Baltic Yachts, completed in early 2016. A refit that has also appealed to the shipyard's customers who want to own their own Baltic Yachts motor yacht. "The refit of our family motoryacht, Sunny Day, also inspired me to initiate our own range of Ligurian-style motoryachts." indicates Näder. It is the British studio Design Unlimited that is working on the design of its new boats.

The Baltic Motor Yachts division comprises two ranges, the "MotorYacht" range and the "DayBoat" range, for a total of 5 boats, from 49 to 135 feet. The interior fittings will be left to the owners' taste, but will accommodate 8 to 12 people and a crew of 6. All the yachts will be built in the same shipyard as the sailing boats, in Ostrobothnia.

The "MotorYacht" range will be composed of three models:

  • Baltic MY88 (27 m)
  • Baltic MY112 (34 m)
  • Baltic MY135 (41 m)

The "DayBoat" range consists of two models:

  • Baltic MY49 (15 m)
  • Baltic MY56 (17 m)
