Karver, such a simple but intelligent mainsail headrest!

Horn sails have multiplied in recent years. The significant angulation of the last batten poses a problem when dropping. The Karver hook solves the problem automatically and permanently!

Increasingly used on cruising yachts, horn mainsails pose a problem when lowering. Indeed, the forced batten that holds the upper part of the horn taut always forms an angle with the mast. It is impossible to put it parallel to the boom without dismantling its carriage.

The incidence sail has found a parry with a tensioning system between the last 2 carriages which is put in place when the halyard is tensioned. It's simple, but this extra rope must be the right length for the system to work well. This system is used on most Lagoons.

Karver had presented a prototype last year and returns today with a definitive system. You have to see it working to understand its simplicity. It's a head carriage that also serves as a pulley block. The halyard runs through it and blocks a ring for the horn. As the halyard is lowered, the ring comes out of the hook and the horn bends without any problem.

This KMS hook is available for Karver trolleys, but is also compatible with many competitor trolleys. It is available in 4 sizes for yachts up to 110 feet (working load 8 t).
