When you're kiting, sometimes you have to change a line. But when you're on a spot, it's not about changing everything at once. You can temporarily change the only broken line, to rewind as soon as possible.
With this in mind, Marlow has designed 30 m long line reels (only 500 m reels have been offered so far). The Marlow Kiteline Race is available in 1.5 mm diameter (breaking load 360 kg) with a choice of 4 colours. These lines are made of Dyneema SK99, the strongest Dyneema currently available (they were previously made of SK90).
With these braids, splicing is very simple. Marlow offers a cat needle specially designed for these diameters (particularly small to offer the least amount of wind resistance).
