Test / BMA X199, the open hull revisited by BWA

New BMA X199 from Rib Italy

Better known for its BWA RIBs, RibItaly launches into open hulls with its BMA brand. We tried for you the BMA X199, a first model with a modern style.

A simple and uncluttered boat

Present since the 1980s on the RIB market with the BWA brand, the Italian shipyard RibItaly launches its first open hull. It is a simple boat, both in design and fittings.

A surface for idleness

The shape of the deck livet frees up a large area at the bow. Equipped with cushions, this bow sundeck offers a generous sunbathing area, which will seduce at anchor. The second advantage of this configuration is the large locker located under the mattresses. The crew will be able to comfortably store their equipment there.

A modular aft saloon

The driver's seat is equipped with a clever tilting system. Once the boat is at anchor, the helmsman's seat can be transformed by a simple rotation into a two-seater bench facing aft, creating a convivial saloon.

A thin hull

Wide at deck level, the hull nevertheless retains fine, pinched inlets, with V-shaped forward forms. Although tested on the calm waters of Lake Maggiore, its passage through the chop seemed promising.

Bow of the BMA X199

Powered by an Evinrude 150 HO outboard engine, the BMA X199 is capable of top speeds of 37 knots with two people on board, starting at 3500 rpm.

A competitive price

The boat is offered at a basic price of 13,900 euros, which is very competitive compared to competitors on the market. Option packs allow a choice of upholstery and various finishes.

The BMA X199 will be exhibited in Touring version at the Nautic 2016 in Paris.
