The English fittings manufacturer Lewmar launches a new range of vertical windlasses: the VX series. These new models are characterized by 2 great innovations: their engine is completely waterproof and the price is really mini.
These shingles are characterised by a sprocket no longer made entirely of stainless steel, but mixed polyester and stainless steel. This offers the advantage of saving weight on this part. Tests of resistance and duration in various climatic conditions were carried out before validating this sprocket.
A sealed motor
The motor of a VX windlass is watertight to IP67. According to the IP standard (Index of Protection), it is totally protected against dust (index 6) and protected against the effects of temporary immersion (to 1 m). Basically, you can put your anchor leases completely underwater without damaging the electric motor.
A very well-placed selling price
The VX range is available in 8 models from 300 to 1500 watts. Each model can be fitted with a single sprocket or a winch. As a comparison, the VX2+ of 1000 watts is proposed at 999 euros including VAT. This is several hundred euros less than the competition..
Quickly available
The Lewmar importer in France, the Tecmar company, has built up a large stock of this range in order to be able to deliver to stores within 24 hours. For this beginning of season, only the models with the horizontal engine will be available, the models with the vertical engine will arrive in the first half of 2017.
