2nd generation IMOCA, but potential winners of the 2016 Vendée Globe
Of the 29 IMOCA boats taking part in the Vendée Globe, there are four second-generation IMOCA boats designed by the VPLP-Verdier design office. All of them have serious arguments to compete with the latest generation IMOCAs, most of which are equipped with foils. SMA is none other than the former Macif, winner of the last Vendée Globe, Maître Coq is an "old generation" equipped with foils, while PRB has been so optimized that she is almost new! The match promises to be close!
