The CF 2 is under construction at JFA Yachts. This new Finot Conq (FC) plan is part of the Fast Cruiser (FC) category, from which are named FC 2 . Launch planned for early 2018
This very wide 70-foot sailboat with a slender sail plan is all about performance. The weight specifications are also monitored with an aluminium hull and a composite deck and cockpit (epoxy glass infusion assembled by gluing and bolting).
On the rigging side, the mast and boom will be all carbon as well as the running rigging (shrouds). For more performance, the reels will be installed under the deck and the hydraulic winches will be borrowed from the race.
The architectural firm has designed a large draught of 4.40 m to ensure the stiffness of the canvas. But to facilitate mooring and provide access to many ports, the keel is a swivelling lifting keel. A little like those of the Pogo (also from the same architectural firm). Once the keel is raised, the draft increases to 2.00 m.
As for the layout, the owners have asked for a suite that occupies the entire width of the boat in front of the mast base. Guests meet in the aft under the cockpit in 2 double cabins. The bow of the boat is occupied by the crew station. From the cockpit, you can access a large living room with galley on starboard.
To facilitate port manoeuvres, the yacht is equipped with a 180 hp engine and two thrusters: a bow thruster and a stern thruster. It is indeed recognized that this type of hull equipped with double rudder is not the champion for manoeuvres, a problem solved by the adoption of thrusters.
