In the tradition of the Chantier des Ileaux
Day-Boat of 8m with modern lines, built in strip planking, the Tröll 26 is part of the line of boats of the shipyard of Les Ileaux since the launch of its Composite Wood activity in 2012. It completes the Leggero, XO and Rosso series. The aesthetic unity and performance, characteristic of the shipyard are respected by the architect Paolo Bua, faithful accomplice of the company of Noirmoutier.

Customized for the owner
The owner of the first model was involved in the definition of the boat from the beginning of the project. He needed a day-boat for "fast, friendly & technical" sailing!
The program was translated on the drawing board by an elegant 8 m mahogany sailboat with an inverted bow. With a beam of 2.50 meters at the main beam, it offers a spacious cockpit that is completely open. A draft of 1.80 meters allows for stiffness under sail, while the ballast is raised to 30 cm, the boat can anchor as close to the beach as possible.

Good speeds
During the very first sea trial, with 15 knots of wind and heavy seas, the shipyard announced good performances: 8 knots upwind and a peak of 13.2 knots downwind. This is a good sign for the happy owners.

A survivor
Even before it hit the water, the Tröll 26 already had a rich history. Unfortunately, the Chantier des Ileaux suffered a fire in November 2015 that did enormous damage to this wood specialist. The first example was 80% finished when it was completely destroyed. Fortunately, thanks to crowdfunding and a highly motivated client, construction was restarted in January 2016.
Visible at the Grand Pavois
The Ileaux shipyard will present the Tröll 26 at the Grand Pavois in La Rochelle september 28 - October 3, 2016.
