One big trip in 2018, but two options
The Hermione will set sail again for a grand voyage, similar to the one undertaken in the United States, from April to August 2015. But for the moment, no destination has been decided. Two options are being considered. The first would be a Mediterranean circuit and the second an Atlantic/Caribbean/US circuit.
Mediterranean circuit: Sète, Toulon, Marseille and Saint-Tropez have requested the frigate's visit to their ports. Spain, Portugal, Morocco and Italy have ports concerned by the historical dimension of the Hermione's visit.
Atlantic/Caribbean/Florida/Louisiana circuit: L'Hermione has been officially invited to participate in the celebrations of the tercentenary of the creation of New Orleans. This program could include stopovers in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Dakar, which have already established contacts for the arrival of the Hermione, but also in the French West Indies as well as in Cuba and Haiti, in keeping with La Fayette's commitment to freedom and his fight for human rights and the abolition of slavery.
