Boston Whaler Outrage 330, American-style sport fishing

Boston Whaler unveils its new open hull, the Outrage 330, at the Paris Boat Show. A 10m center console boat, fully equipped for sport fishing and powered by two 300 HP Mercury engines.

This fall, Boston Whaler introduced a new open hull for fishing: the 330 Outrage. It is exhibited for the first time in Europe at the Nautic. The Outrage range is the most popular Boston Whaler range in France. After the success of the 350 and 370, the American brand decided to release the 330, which replaces the 320 Outrage (which was also a great success).

The 330 Outrage has all the features that made its two big brothers so successful, namely the large, user-friendly space at the front of the boat (which is even more so on the 330). The hull and cockpit are new. On this model, we find a sundeck (which was not on the 320) with a large storage locker underneath. The other novelty is also the leaning-post, which were not on the two previous models, or the side door.

It has a deep-V hull with chine and strake (Accutrack hull), for a smoother, more comfortable ride and better maneuverability, thanks to the continuous control of the state-of-the-art Mercury propulsion system. Many features make it a boat equipped for both fishing and boating. For the past 5 years, Boston Whaler has been making its boats more comfortable for family-oriented boating.

At the center of the 330 Outrage is the sheltered center console with two seats. The state-of-the-art navigation panel and display technology allows the captain to easily and intuitively control the Mercury outboards. The helm station is also designed to provide maximum comfort for the pilot, with a folding platform that allows even the smallest crew members to stand up for better visibility. Finally, footrests molded into the console allow for comfortable sailing. A ladder on the starboard side allows to climb on the t-top to install the rods.

The console also has a private main compartment with VacuFlush toilet, storage space and a screened porthole. This is also the place where we cleverly store the part that will create a sunbathing area in the front.

The central console allows you to move around the boat easily. At the front, just in front of the console is a large bench seat (which converts into a sundeck) with folding armrests and a view of the sea. When you lift it up, you discover a large storage compartment for large equipment such as buckets, fenders or diving bottles.

To complete the lounge area, there is a U-shaped bench seat in the deck arch. It serves as additional storage for life jackets, ropes and towels. Finally, recessed rod holders in the hull complete the foredeck space.

Boston Whaler has paid a lot of attention to the cockpit to make it comfortable and functional. Behind the two seats in the helm console is a bench seat that converts to a leaning post and can house an optional 151-liter livewell. With a quick movement, the seat slides back and tilts down to reveal a large work surface with stainless steel grab bars and cup holders.

Additional features include a large convertible aft bench seat, which folds down completely to provide ample fishing space. An optional teak cockpit table is also easily stowed for extra space. There's also a 189-liter livewell behind the rear bench seat.

Another feature of the 330 Outrage's cockpit is a new port dive door, which provides easy access to the dock or facilitates entry and exit into the water, with a removable ladder. For sport fishing, it makes it easier to carry the catch on deck. A cooler and summer kitchen are also available.

Boston Whaler has been building unsinkable runabouts, cruisers and center console boats for over 50 years. Founded in 1958 and currently based in Edgewater, Florida, the company uses a foam construction process that provides superior handling characteristics and durability. The line of boats ranging from 11 to 42 feet is distributed worldwide. The Boston Whaler legend is built on unsinkability and reliability. The Outrage series has long been the epitome of that success, designed from the inside out to provide the ideal balance, stability and smoothness.
