Winner 8, a little Dutch kid with a trunk!

Launched at the end of 2014, the Winner 8 was presented for the first time in France at the Grand Pavois. The opportunity for us to introduce you to the smallest of this Dutch range.

The Winner 8 is available in 2 versions. The Comfort version ( white hull on the pictures ), intended for cruising has a shallower draft and moderate sail area. On the other hand, the performance version ( red hull ) with a horned mainsail and a draught increased to 1.50 m is there to make the gunpowder talk.

If the fittings are more consequent in the performance version, the bowsprit is present on both versions. This appendage retracts, but does not appear in the forward cabin. It is located under the deck and does not pose a risk of water infiltration as is often the case with retractable booms.

Nothing to say about the cockpit and deck plan, very classic, but also very efficient with a tiller that acts on the 2 rudders.

It's when you get inside the boat that the surprise is created: the volume of the Winner 8 impresses. This sailboat of only 8 meters looks a lot more than that. It's actually an extrapolation of Winner 9. The shipyard wanted to keep the same sizes of front and rear cabins.

Thus the Winner 8 lost 50 cm at the stern and 50 cm at the galley level in the saloon. But the rest of it looks like a Winner 9. This is why, still with the aim of freeing up space in the aft cabin, the yacht is equipped with 2 rudders on the transom, no suspended rudders.

The quality of construction for which the yard is renowned is found on board this model, the smallest in the range. Inside, the forward cabin is presented as a Breton bed open to the saloon. The aft section is reserved for a beautiful double cabin and a toilet on the starboard side. The "shortened" saloon allows only one single berth on the port side.

Designed by Van de Stadt, this Winner 8 is easy to handle and will allow you to cruise in complete peace of mind, whatever the conditions encountered.
