We announced that the Yachting Cannes Festival had set up a major elegance contest this year, taking place on Thursday, September 10 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Reserved for motorboats and day-boats with engines less than 12 m in size, it has been a real success.
13 crews took part in this first Elegance Competition, parading in the blue waters of the Old Port of Cannes.
The jury was chaired by Annette Roux, President of the Yachting Festival and composed of Olivier Piquet, CEO of Lise Charmel, Dominique Gabirault, pharmacist and enthusiast, Nicolas Kappenberger, Swiss market director Audemars Piguet and Roberto Franzoni, journalist.
Three categories represented
- Construction before 1975 ;
- Construction between 1976 and 2000;
- Construction after the 2000s.
The scoring system
- 15 points for the quality of the restoration, the state of conservation, the design of the boat
- 15 points for the elegance of the crew and the quality of the parade
- 10 points for the rarity of the model
- 10 points for the history of the boat
