Efficient, the foils on a monohull?
On the latest generation of IMOCA boats scheduled for the next Vendée Globe, foils have appeared. These large side whiskers are supposed to relieve the boat and make it gain speed. But if the mathematical calculations announce a gain, nobody had yet demonstrated the result on the water. This has now been done with these first images of the Imoca 60' Edmond de Rothschild in the breeze.
