The Easter weekend will be the occasion for the city of La Rochelle to organise maritime festivities, of which the Hermione will be the central event. " The Trawler Basin celebrates the maritime heritage during an exceptional weekend. The stopover of the Hermione, the opening of the new Maritime Museum and the many festivities will be events to relive great pages of history and to look towards new horizons"
Events during 3 days
Every day will be organized nautical events and animations. The Stopover village will be installed on the platform of honour where the Hermione Lafayette association stands will welcome you from Saturday to Sunday. Many animations are on the program. Realize some accrovoile to climb into the cockpit of an 18th century sailboat, take part in a series of sailing baptisms You can also take part in a variety of activities, such as boarding different types of boats, taking part in merry-go-rounds, playing in the big band... or even admire the forty or so classic yachts ...moored in the harbor.
The new maritime museum which was inaugurated on 3 April, will welcome you to visit the new spaces and the new exhibition, dedicated to the city. Finally, take advantage of the latest frigate visits ...before he went out to sea.
The 3 highlights of the weekend
On Saturday, April 4, attend the Grand Maritime Banquet for lunch. The associations and neighbourhood committees of La Rochelle will prepare fish and oysters for you. On Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 April, at nightfall, the Hermione will be at the heart of a sound and light show. Finally, on Sunday 5th April there will be a big nautical parade of classic yachts and traditional boats. Moored in the trawlers' basin for the weekend, they will come out on Sunday, to the delight of visitors.
