Pavillon National, Pavillon Breton, which one to wear?

Is it compulsory to display the National Pavilion? Where should it be installed? What are the obligations to know? And can the Breton Pavilion replace the National? Where should it be installed? Can we combine the two? Bateaux.com conducted the investigation and prepared a file for you to find your way around.

To all our Breton friends or other lovers of Brittany who would ask themselves the question of whether flying the Breton flag on his ship is legal, we investigated this matter. Thanks to the precious help of Jean-Pierre Clech, member of the Marin Breton Board of Directors. This former teacher lives in Brest and now retired, he gives lectures in the fields of the sea, in particular to students of the Merchant Navy. Part Two The Breton Pavilion

The Pavillon Breton is a regional pavilion, identifiable with a courtesy pavilion. It must under no circumstances replace the National Flag but may nevertheless be flown on a boat, in accordance with the rules.

Part Three The National Pavilion

The National Flag is mandatory on board a vessel and must be placed at the stern of the vessel. It must respect a certain size and proportion in its colors. Finally, it is subject to rules.
