Nathalie Renoux calls Initiatives-Cur de Tanguy de Lamotte

On Saturday, November 1, in the heart of the Route du Rhum village, Nathalie Renoux, a journalist for M6, christened Tanguy de Lamotte's boat, Initiatives-Coeur, in front of the crowd.

Little Youssouf, a native of Burundi, who recently underwent heart surgery thanks to the chain of solidarity set up by the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association, was present. The skipper, a host family, the co-founder of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque - Patrice Roynette - representatives of the sponsors of the âeuros boat André Liébot and Bruno Léger for the company K-LINE and Franck Vallée for the company Initiatives âeuros were also present. As of 1 er in November, on the Route du Rhum village, the "1 click, 1 heart" operation raised 72,000 euros, allowing the operation of 6 children.

An adventure that began during the 2012-2013 Vendée Globe

At the beginning of 2013, Tanguy de Lamotte returned from the Vendée Globe (solo, non-stop, unassisted round-the-world race), which he sailed under the aegis of a charity for Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque. His journey will have enabled him to operate on 20 children suffering from serious heart disease.

His arrival in the port of Les Sables d'Olonne caused quite a stir and this is how Nathalie Renoux discovered the skipper and his investment in the association. The presenter of M6's 19.45, seduced by this human and sporting adventure, decided to contact the sailor. " Tanguy is not only competing against other exceptional sailors, he is also taking up a human challenge" she explains.

After sailing on the Initiatives-C?ur boat, Nathalie Renoux did not hesitate long before accepting the offer to become the boat's godmother. " I was touched that Tanguy asked me to be the godmother of his boat. In the end, it's a bit like being the godmother of the dozens of children who could be saved thanks to his races" confides the journalist.
