Rendezvous in Bordeaux to visit the Hermione
From Tuesday, October 7 to Monday, October 13, the Hermione will make its first official voyage to Bordeaux. She will arrive in the Bordeaux region in the late evening and will pass under the Chaban-Delmas bridge at 7 pm, before reaching the honorary pontoon on Quai Richelieu, where she will be moored. This is an opportunity to return to the prestige of the port of Bordeaux, which was the first port in France in the 18th century.
Rendezvous on October 7 in the Gironde estuary around 10:30 am (BXA buoy) and in Pauillac, where the frigate will continue its journey to Bordeaux, at 4 pm.
Visits to delight young and old alike
On Wednesday, October 8 and Thursday, October 9, visits will be organized from 10 am to 5 pm without reservation. The price of the ticket is 5 euros and sold on site from 9:30 am, within the limits of the capacity of the frigate. On Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12, the visits are full.
Program of the week around the Hermione :
- Tuesday, October 7th the replica of the ship of La Fayette will make its entry into the Port of the Moon at 19 hours, which will be followed by a nautical parade. At 7:30 p.m., the frigate will be moored at the pontoon of honor with music.
- Wednesday 8 to Sunday 12 October the "Hermione Village" will be held on the Quai Richelieu. Many associations and shipyards will be present to animate workshops. The Chantier de Tramasset will propose to the children to build boats and to realize marine knots. The Association Scénistoric & Fort Rainbow will propose historical animations in period costume, without forgetting animations Accrovoile, demonstrations of the handling of the Hermione's cannons or a stand with exhibitions, animations sailmaking or tasting of regional products. The latter will be held by the city of Rochefort, the community of agglomerations Rochefort Ocean, the department of Charente-Maritime and the Region Poitou-Charentes.
Visits and walks " The Hermione seen from the water this will also include the "new" and "old" versions of the "newcomer's day".
- The friday, October 10th at 10 a.m., a lecture on the Hermione will be given at the Musée d'Aquitaine.
- The saturday, October 11 alain Juppé will inaugurate the La Fayette pontoon in the presence of a representative of the U.S. Embassy in France.
- The monday, October 13th at 10:30 a.m., the frigate will leave for new horizons and will pass under the Chaban-Delmas bridge at 11 a.m.
