Ms Loire Princesse begins its assembly phase

The MS Loire Princesse is a hotel ship ordered last February by the shipowner CroisiEurope to Neopolia. On Wednesday, the STX shipyards in Saint-Nazaire, France, put on hold the first two central blocks.

Wednesday morning, in the STX shipyards of Saint-Nazaire, they were hard at work to put the two central blocks of the Loire-Princesse on the slipway. Built by the Mecsoud company, these two blocks, weighing between 110 and 120 tons each, were assembled in the form B of the STX shipyards, by the new Very Large Gantry. The other blocks, front and rear, are still under construction but should soon join the assembly platform. The motorization of the boat should be integrated at the end of September and the aluminum superstructure as well as the two paddle wheels in October.

This 90-meter long ship and the origin of CroisiEurope, a cruise operator from Alsace, specializes in river cruises, and will be launched in early November but will start cruising only from April 2015. In autumn, she will be moored at the water intake pier to complete the finishing touches afloat. It will be able to embark 96 passengers, divided into 48 cabins to make a trip between Saint-Nazaire and Angers with stops in Nantes, Ancenis and on the castles of the Loire.

Designed by the Nantes-based architecture firm Stirling Design International, the MS Loire Princesse will leave for cruises of 6 to 8 days. CroisiEurope has already committed to building two other ships different from this one.
