An order for three FSIV units
Piriou, a French group operating in several countries, has just delivered the 9th unit of the FSIV 53w model named "Kacey". Built in Vietnam, this vessel inspired by the Piriou design is the first of a series of three units ordered by Suisse Outremer AG and which will be operated by ABC Maritime AG, a private Swiss shipping company. These crewboats will be used in West Africa for offshore oil sites.
With the delivery of these boats, Piriou is positioning itself as a major player in this fast crew boat segment. In 2014, 6 other units are already scheduled for delivery.
Kacey, a versatile and high-performance FSIV 53w
The Kacey is a highly versatile aluminum vessel that performs multiple missions for the offshore industry, in particular the transport of personnel and cargo on deck. Thanks to a sea proven design developed by Piriou Ingénierie and identifiable by a straight bow improving performance and personnel comfort, this FSIV 53w offers a series of advantages:
- improved ship's speed light and loaded with constant consumption,
- greatly improved consumption in economic mode,
- maximum comfort with a lounge equipped with 48 seats (Business Class option) and two owner's cabins.
the "Kacey" also has a long range (135 m3 of diesel fuel) and a large carrying capacity of 226 t on deck. Thanks to its hydrojet propulsion, it has exceptional maneuverability and also offers increased safety thanks to the class 2 dynamic positioning system (DP2) with which it is equipped.
