A race in honor of the SNSM rescuers
This race, created in 2005 at the initiative of Damien Grimont, brings together different categories of boats on a symbolic course between Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Malo (between SN and SM). Competitors, both professionals and amateurs, compete between the city of liners and the corsair city to support the SNSM rescuers, described by Gérard Pazzano, First President of the Record SNSM association as "Extraordinary volunteers, courageous, available, able to set sail at a moment's notice, at night, in a storm, to save lives." .
From June 19 to 24, 500 ambassadors will compete aboard 55 boats and 120 light boats (canoe, kayak, paddle). For this anniversary edition, a new feature is on the program: the Qualif Solidaire, a course of 1,000 nautical miles reserved for Class'40 monohulls as a reminder of the Solidaire du Chocolat of 2016.
This year, many participants will once again take part in this tenth edition, initiated and sponsored by Michel Desjoyeaux. Tanguy Delamotte, skipper of the 60-foot IMOCA monohull Initiatives-C?ur, will be present. He will take the start on June 22 at 3 pm. He explains that he is there to "Leading by example! It's a way to tell everyone how important it is to wear a life jacket, to buckle up, to do everything you can to protect yourself, so that there are fewer accidents."
The offshore sailors will be joined by many other sea users to participate in the Petit Record. A 7-mile course between Saint-Nazaire and Saint-Marc will be open to all types of coastal craft: light sailing, canoeing, paddling or rowing.

A tribute to the 7,500 lifeguards of the SNSM
The 7,500 volunteer rescuers of the French National Lifeboat Society (SNSM) ensure the safety of holidaymakers day and night, in summer and winter and in all weathers. It is therefore to recognize their competence, at sea as well as on the coast, that the SNSM organizes this race. "For ten years, the SNSM Record, with the powerful support of determined and loyal partners, has offered the SNSM a great media platform in the service of rescuers and the promotion of safety through prevention." explains Jean-Marie Van Huffel, president of the SNSM Record association.
A tribute to the 2016 Solidaire du Chocolat
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the SNSM is organizing a Qualif Solidaire reserved for the Class'40. This 1,000-mile single-handed race will take place between France, Spain and England and will see 18 crews compete.
A village on earth to celebrate
For this 10th anniversary, the village will be open every day from 10 am to 8 pm. There will be institutional stands, the solidarity village, the SNSM area and a lifeguard station. In the basin of the Old Port, you can try your hand at sailing initiations. On June 21, rescue demonstrations will take place, followed by a great musical evening for the music festival. "All in all, this Record SNSM 2014 promises to be a great celebration of the sea, punctuated by music. Retrospectives, great concerts, animations of all kinds, and always a single color: orange" concluded Damien Grimont.
