Each year, the Fishing Harbour Challenge offers the opportunity to bring together fishermen and boaters for a great five-day celebration. The program includes regattas, a fishing village and numerous events. For the 24th consecutive year, Pornic has been chosen to welcome professionals and amateurs of the sea world. It is also an opportunity for each region, department, port to highlight its nautical, economic and cultural heritage. This national event also allows professionals of the sector to come and promote their products, trades and nautical activities. For almost a week, it is the opportunity to enjoy a warm moment on the sea or in the fishermen's village
Regattas to elect the 2014 French champion port
The Fishing Harbours Challenge is also an opportunity to participate in a large one-design fleet race on "one-design" boats Grand-Surprise ". 21 sailboats from the different French seaboards (Channel, Atlantic and Mediterranean) are already registered to participate in this regatta, which is included in the national calendar of the French Sailing Federation ( FFV ). The crews, composed of fishermen and professionals of the fishing industry, will have the right to include among their members a "boater" amateur or regatta competitor. To win the final trophy, a minimum of 4 races must be run. Who will dethrone the Pays Bigouden, the title holders? Results on Saturday, May 31.
Animations in the fishermen's village
On land, many activities await the participants, starting with the village of fishermen installed on the quays of downtown Pornic. Each day the stands of the various participating ports will organize tastings to discover the regional specialtiesâeuros¦ It will also be possible to meet the crews and follow the races or to discover the seafood in the exhibition hall, to participate in cooking demonstrations organized by local chefsâeuros¦ On Friday evening, a great evening concert and fireworks will delight young and old!
