The USHIP network of shipchandlers continues to expand. Seven new outlets have joined the brand since October 2025, on the Channel, Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.

The USHIP network continues to expand, with five new locations in mainland France and two international openings.

Shipchandlers remain local businesses

USHIP's new stores follow this harbor logic. In Deauville, the YachtGuard store has moved to rue Olliffe, between the port's two basins. In Ouistreham, the new DFG outlet is located at the entrance to the Quai Georges Thierry, in direct contact with the flow of yachts and boats calling at the port.

The same logic applies to La Tremblade. The return of a nautical equipment store on the Quai des Chantiers Bernard brings a technical offering back to an area that had been deprived of one for several years. For sailors on the Seudre estuary and in the Marennes Oléron basin, this means fewer trips to Royan or Rochefort for everyday supplies.

Local players seek network support

The majority of new openings come from companies already established locally. This reflects a fundamental trend in nautical distribution: independents are now looking for central offices capable of providing referencing, logistics and visibility.

In Saint Malo, Nautilots joins the brand with its Bas Sablons store. The company already boasts an extensive nautical business, covering a number of yachting-related trades. In Bordeaux, Solean is also pursuing its regional development, following an initial move to Port Médoc.

For these structures, joining a network offers several advantages. Firstly, access to shared logistics, which is particularly useful for technical references that are sometimes difficult to stock locally. Secondly, they can benefit from the same range of products in different ports, making it easier for itinerant yachtsmen to get used to their products.

The nautical store evolves towards more technical services

New members no longer limit their activities to the sale of fittings. Many now combine maintenance, boat sales, training and nautical support.

In Ouistreham, DFG already combines boat sales, maintenance, licensing and coaching. In Algeria, Yaca Yachting Algeria is developing a combination of Aventura catamaran rental, sailing initiation and equipment distribution.

International business becomes a growth driver

The two openings in Algiers and the Algarve also demonstrate a strategy of expansion outside the French market. For nautical chains, certain foreign basins now offer significant potential.

For several years now, the Algarve has benefited from a growing number of European yachtsmen, particularly winter visitors. Portuguese ports welcome customers from northern Europe looking for more stable sailing conditions in the off-season.

In Algeria, the market is still in its infancy, but certain coastal areas are gradually developing their yachting infrastructures. The integration of Yaca Yachting Algeria illustrates the growing importance of new Mediterranean basins.
