Historically focused on professional markets, the Var-based boatbuilder Estilo is opening a new chapter in its development by entering the recreational fishing market. With its new Estilo Fishing model, the specialist in custom-built aluminum RIBs is partnering with Suzuki Marine for its engines and aims to bring its industrial expertise to a new customer base.
From commercial fishing to recreational fishing
Based in Hyères, Estilo has so far focused primarily on serving a professional clientele. The shipyard builds aluminum RIBs for the DGA, the police, the fire department, port authorities, and various private companies.
What sets it apart is its highly integrated production process at its Var facility. The design office, aluminum fabrication, installation of ORCA Hypalon floats, upholstery, deck hardware, and engine integration are all handled in-house by the shipyard. The use of aluminum allows Estilo, above all, to avoid the constraints associated with molds and to offer highly customizable boats.
With Estilo Fishing, the manufacturer now plans to apply this approach to the market for fishing boats.
A rigid-hulled inflatable boat designed specifically for fishing
Designed by Estilo's engineering department based on feedback from fishermen, the Estilo Fishing remains true to the shipyard's all-aluminum construction.
The boat can be equipped with an engine of up to 300 ch and features a layout specifically designed for fishing: a livewell, storage lockers, rod holders built into the floor, an electric motor mount, a helm station, a self-draining deck, and a motor mounted on a bracket to improve seaworthiness.
Estilo also upholds the principle of customization that characterizes its professional boats, offering the option to tailor each vessel to the needs and practices of each user.
Suzuki Marine Selected as Engine Partner
To support this diversification, Estilo has selected Suzuki Marine to provide engines for its new line. The shipyard highlights, in particular, the Japanese brand?s already strong standing among anglers, as well as the reliability, fuel efficiency, and durability sought in boats likely to undergo intensive use.
The preparation and marketing will also be supported by Meca Bateaux Distribution, which rounds out the framework established for this new offering.
More than just an agreement on engine supply, this partnership allows the two companies to combine their respective strengths: Estilo contributes its expertise in aluminum construction and customization, while Suzuki brings its network and strong presence in the fishing market.
The first Estilo Fishing, powered by a Suzuki DF250AUN KURO, will make its debut at the 2026 Grand Pavois.
