Previewed at Metstrade 2025, Ocean Safety has enhanced its Jon Buoy range with two key innovations: the EVAC, a lightweight, quick-to-deploy temporary abandonment solution, and the Mk 6 Smart Release, a remote release system integrated into the NMEA2000 network. Innovations that confirm the British brand's commitment to ever more accessible and connected safety
jon Buoy EVAC: the alternative to the life raft

The Jon Buoy EVAC is designed for short-term abandonment situations, when the use of a conventional life raft is not essential. Available in 4- or 6-person versions, it is packaged in an easy-to-carry semi-rigid case. Once triggered, it inflates automatically, offering an arch and canopy for protection, as well as an ascent ladder, assist handles, weighted keel and highly visible colors. The service interval is three years.
Jon Buoy Mk 6 Smart Release: connected safety

The second new feature is the Jon Buoy Mk 6 Smart Release, which enables the Jon Buoy Mk 6 MOB module to be remotely activated from a cockpit via a securely-lit button. This system is also the first of its kind to be integrated into the NMEA2000 network, facilitating interconnection with on-board systems. It features an ON/OFF switch, accidental trigger protection and simplified maintenance access.
A response to the expectations of yachtsmen and professionals

For Alistair Hackett, Managing Director of Ocean Safety, these two new products embody the company's commitment to offering reliable, simple and effective products. " The EVAC Jon Buoy and Smart Release provide a concrete response to growing safety needs, with technology to suit all user profiles" he explains.
