Anti-fouling coatings manufacturer Propspeed unveils a new version of its Foulfree range, designed for non-metallic submerged components. Until now, Propspeed products have been mainly reserved for submerged metals (propellers, bases, shafts), and were not recommended for painted or synthetic surfaces.
Protection for the forgotten submerged
This new system, called Foulfree Multi-Surface is designed for parts usually neglected by conventional antifouling solutions, such as bow thrusters, stabilizers, aluminum base supports, semi-rigid hull flanges and composite appendages. The biocide-free formulation is based on a mechanical release principle that prevents marine organisms from adhering to the product.
Two pack sizes are available (Small and Medium), including preparation and application components. The manufacturer claims a 10-minute setting time and complete polymerization in 12 hours, at room temperature (20°C).
The approach is aimed in particular at outboard-powered pleasure craft and RIBs, which are not very compatible with conventional antifoulings due to the materials used.
A European launch will be announced at the Metstrade show in November 2025.
