Presented at the Grand Pavois de La Rochelle 2025, the Isméria 45 embodies a new approach to short-handed ocean cruising. Built by the Bord à Bord shipyard in Brittany to designs by Vincent Lebailly Yacht Design, this 13-m aluminum sailboat was designed for a couple who usually travel by bike. They asked for a yacht adapted to long-term life on board. The Ismeria is part of a new range from the Bord à Bord shipyard, Ogham, which brings together production sailboats that can be modified by the owner. A position between the small series and the one-off.
A yacht designed for long-distance expeditions

The Isméria 45 is a full aluminum dinghy designed to meet the demands of offshore sailing. Its design incorporates two suspended rudders and a lifting keel (draught from 0.85 to 3.00 m), allowing access to numerous anchorages. The cockpit is self-draining, protected by a rigid hatch and equipped with stowage compartments for fittings and life raft. Huge lockers offer space for the occupants' bicycles without having to fold or dismantle them.
Continuity between inner and outer life

One of the special features of this yacht is the fluid flow between the cockpit and the interior living area, with no steep steps or descents. The "mono-maran" concept optimizes space and 360-degree visibility from inside, with large, vertical deckhouse windows. The interior helm station, integrated into the design of the deck saloon, allows helming from the shelter while maintaining visibility forward thanks to reversed windows. Surprisingly, the owners did not want an outside helm in the cockpit, but this is possible on request.

Onboard comfort and features adapted to life at sea
The living room is bright and flexible, with a functional kitchen (three gas rings, refrigerator with drawers, double sink, microwave on converter, 3kg washing machine). A fold-down table provides extra sleeping space. The sleeping area comprises two double cabins, one of which is forward, with plenty of storage space. A bathroom with separate shower completes the layout. An amusing feature is the piano at the rear of this very welcoming saloon.

A sailboat designed for energy autonomy
The roof is designed to accommodate up to 2,000 W of solar panels. The system is designed for maximum autonomy during extended sailing. However, on this first model, the panels are installed on the aft gantry, leaving the deckhouse uninstalled. The standard engine is a 60 hp in-line shaft motor, with the option of a twin-engine version.

A customizable unit for a wide range of conditions

Each Isméria 45 can be customized, particularly in terms of interior woodwork. Although the layout is modular, the yacht we visited had 2 double cabins and a beautiful bathroom, which also houses the washing machine.

With its philosophy of continuity between life on board and navigation, the Isméria 45 is positioned as a travel unit capable of meeting the needs of a reduced crew, without sacrificing comfort and safety.
