The Yanmar Dragon Gold Cup was held in Douarnenez from August 25 to 30, 2025. The week was marked by unstable conditions, but the racing was close, and the atmosphere remained friendly both on land and on the water. The organizing club, Société des Régates de Douarnenez (SRD), now aims to host the 100th edition of the Gold Cup in 2029.
German victory over Ingrid

At the end of the week, it was Dirk Pramann's crew who came out on top on Ingrid (GER 16). The Germans take the lead Yred (JAP 56) by Peter Gilmour and Louise Racing (GBR 833) by Grant Gordon.
" What a week! When you look at the line-up here, and the names of the people inscribed on the trophy, which are truly prestigious, it's pretty incredible to add ours to that list. We remained very consistent, we focused on sailing well and communicating well on board. We had incredible speed and got off to some really good starts, which of course helped us a lot!" commented Dirk Pramann after his victory.
Trophies for every performance

In addition to the overall classification, a number of other prizes were awarded. The Borg Borensen Trophy, awarded to the winner of the first race, goes to Sweden's Jan Secher on Miss Behavior . The Silver Cup, awarded to the mid-table crew, was won by Dutchman Abram De Wilde with Faline .
In the amateur category, the Corinthian Trophy went to Germany's Philip Dohse on Puck . Finally, the Nation Cup, awarded to the most represented nations via a selection of three boats, was won this year by the United Kingdom.
SRD in contention for 2029

Despite changing conditions, SRD validated the program and welcomed the crews. Hervé Chauvin emphasizes: " The atmosphere ashore was excellent, and everyone was able to enjoy the festivities... The weather led us to modify the program, but in the end we were able to do the 6 races planned, so the Gold Cup is complete!"
The 2025 edition confirmed Douarnenez's attachment to the Dragon series. A bid has already been submitted to host the 100th Gold Cup, scheduled for 2029.
