Atlante Classic 36: a displacement yacht with pool, Jacuzzi and 4000-mile range

Designing a sub-40-meter yacht with a swimming pool aft and transoceanic autonomy is a real headache for naval architects. The Atlante Classic 36 offers a volume of 338 GT rarely achieved in this size range. A project announced for 2027.

With its silhouette inspired by exploration vessels, the Atlante Classic 36 is a displacement yacht built in steel and aluminum, boasting a length of 36.20 m and a claimed range of over 4,000 miles at 9 knots. This model is based on Atlante Yachts' semi-custom platform, and built by the Turkish shipyard Mengi Yay.

Swimming pool at the stern: a challenge to integrate on a 36-meter yacht

Integrating an aft swimming pool on a yacht of this size implies a redistribution of technical volumes. Stability at standstill, trim and weight centering are all affected by the large hull end. To compensate, the shipyard has opted for an asymmetrical deck layout, with the mechanical volumes shifted forward. This choice requires us to rethink the location of tanks and technical spaces, while preserving accessibility and weight distribution.

338 GT of volume: accommodations comparable to a 40-metre yacht

With a gross volume of 338 GT, the interior layout is comparable to that of a top-of-the-range yacht. There are five guest cabins, four crew cabins, multi-level living spaces and comfortable headroom. The technical challenge lies in optimizing the footprint: the yacht has a maximum beam of 8.25 m for a displacement hull, with a draught of 2.35 m when fully loaded.

Propulsion, autonomy and environmental compliance

The Atlante Classic 36 is powered by two Volvo Penta D16 engines, each rated at 850 hp, combined with an IMO Tier III-compliant catalytic reduction system (SCR). This engine offers a cruising speed of 11 knots and a top speed of 14 knots. With its 40,000 l of fuel, the yacht can cover more than 4,000 miles at economical speed. For on-board comfort, the stabilization system is provided by CMC Marine electric stabilizers and hydraulic bow and stern thrusters (Sleipner).

A Turkish shipyard at the helm: Mengi Yay

Based in Tuzla, Mengi Yay Yachts specializes in the construction of steel and aluminum-hulled yachts from 20 to 50 meters. Renowned for its semi-custom production, the company offers flexible layouts and equipment choices, meeting the demands of customers looking for a more personal touch. The Atlante Classic 36 is scheduled for launch in 2027.

Classic lines, modern finishes

Naval design is by Arrabito Naval Architects, while exterior and interior design is by VYD Studio. The plan calls for a classic aesthetic with a relatively low, stacked structure, incorporating a sundeck with Jacuzzi, a main deck with large glass areas, and an interior finish inspired by the owners' choice, using Italian materials. This approach aims to combine traditional yachting with contemporary habitability.
