A deep-rooted maritime heritage

Victoire Berger may have grown up far from the coast, but her family history is deeply linked to the ocean. The great-great-granddaughter of a Cap-Hornier and granddaughter of fishermen, she naturally returned to the sea as soon as she had the chance. Her career has been punctuated by experiences as a sailor, instructor and competitor, roles which have enabled her to hone her mastery and passion for ocean racing.
An asset for the project

In addition to her experience at sea, Victoire Berger brings invaluable skills in project management, partner relations and business management, acquired in the world of start-ups. This know-how will be an asset in the management and development of the Class40 project.
A springboard to the Route du Rhum 2026

Victoire's objective is clear: to take part in the Route du Rhum 2026. By joining the Mer Connexion program, she benefits from a structuring framework to evolve, gain experience on the Class40 circuit and take the necessary steps to reach this ambitious goal.
A commitment to women sailors

Through this selection, Mer Connexion continues its commitment to promoting women's access to ocean racing. Following in the footsteps of skippers such as Justine Mettraux, Clarisse Crémer, Samantha Davies, Isabelle Joschke and Violette Dorange, Victoire Berger embodies the new generation of women sailors ready to take on the challenges of ocean racing.
"This project is not only a personal challenge, but also a message: women can engage in extreme adventures, and it's time for them to take their place on the starting lines!" describes Victoire Berger
With this latest milestone, Mer Connexion continues to pave the way for women sailors in the Mediterranean and beyond. See you in 2025 to follow Victoire Berger's performance aboard the Class40 Prendre la mer, agir pour la forêt!
