Ventio: a lightweight, sober catamaran for coastal adventure

The Ventio, designed by Nicolas Purnu and produced by Windpearl Yachts, offers a unique solution for coastal cruising enthusiasts. Lightweight, containerizable and available in several versions, this catamaran combines marine performance with minimalist comfort.

Sailing a catamaran that's light, fast and accessible, while offering modular comfort - that's the promise of the Ventio. This model, developed by Windpearl Yachts, stands out for an approach that's very different from today's market. The aim is not to offer an over-equipped sailboat, as the market often seems to demand, but rather a simple, easy-to-maintain, yet highly efficient machine. Older sailors will remember the Edel Catamaran, on which the Ventio seems to be based, but with more volume in the hulls.

2 very roomy hulls

The Ventio is a catamaran with 2 habitable hulls joined by a rigid nacelle. The living area (galley, saloon) is simply protected by a canvas. In the hulls, which offer excellent headroom, there are two large double berths, surprisingly spacious for a multihull of this size. One hull also features a toilet area.

Modular configurations to suit every need

The yacht we discovered at Le Pavois in September 2024 had just come out of the yard. Its finish will undoubtedly gain in quality. But a visit to this yacht shows that it can be adapted to a variety of configurations.

Number 1 has been fitted with 2 pivoting daggerboards that bring the draft up to 2.00 m. Fixed keels are also available. In the same spirit, the prototype's wing mast is rotatable in carbon, while a simpler aluminum model is in the catalog.

Marine performance and special equipment

With a displacement of just 3 tons and a sail area of up to 88 m² upwind, the Ventio relies on lightness for optimum performance. With its two outboard engines concealed beneath the nacelle, this Ventio is a pleasure under sail, while remaining technically accessible and easy to handle.

In the configuration unveiled at the Grand Pavois boat show, the Ventio is priced at ?200,000 ex VAT. The more cruising-oriented Palma version, with a much more protected nacelle, will be priced shortly.
