How to install a sound system on your boat? To make installation easier, Kent Marine Equipment offers a complete, ready-to-install kit from Kicker. The Basic Pack includes the multimedia center, speakers, cables and antenna. Easy to install and use, it's sure to please small craft.

When you own a boat, you like to equip it with the very best, and without breaking the bank, Kicker offers a sound system perfectly suited to pleasure craft, whether freshwater or sea fishing.

A complete sound system

The Basic Pack has been designed for all first-time buyers to get started with their musical installation, offering a solution that is simple to use and assemble, but above all that can be upgraded as needs change. But First doesn't mean low-end, because at Kicker, musical quality is paramount!

The Basic Pack includes a KMC2 PA system and two speakers with UV-treated front panels and grilles. The KMC2 is a 4 x 25 W sound system. This means that up to 4 speakers can be connected, with the option of adjusting the sound separately in the 2 zones. The speakers in the kit are KM44s, 4" or 6.5" depending on the kit variant, and each delivers 50 W RMS. A special feature of Kicker speakers is that they come with 2 grilles, treated with the same anti-UV treatment as the front panel, in white or anthracite, so that they can be perfectly adapted to the world of your boat. The speakers' tweeters are made of titanium, and the quality of the diaphragms is designed to last in harsh environments.

Easy assembly!

Pack Basic is easy to install. All you need is a hole saw to drill the holes in the desired locations. One 75 mm hole for the sound system and two 100 mm holes for the speakers. The kit comes complete with 2 x 5 m wires to connect the speakers, and even waterproof boxes to ensure the system's longevity. All you need to do is connect the PA system to a 12 V power supply. The right ratio of sound power output to power consumption, coupled with a low battery voltage warning system, ensures optimum power consumption.

A scalable solution

Later, the Basic Pack can be upgraded by adding a second pair of speakers, or even better, by connecting an amplifier (the RCA pins are designed for this purpose) to obtain more power from larger speakers or even a subwoofer.

Wired or wireless

For music, the KMC2 incorporates a tuner for AM and FM radio, and an antenna is included in the kit. On the rear panel, you can plug in a music source via the Mini Jack or USB socket. But this device also supports Bluetooth sources. Of course, the KMC2 keyboard is waterproof to IP 67, as are the speakers, to withstand adverse weather conditions.

A 1A USB output provides power for a smartphone.

Imported by Kent Marine Equipment, the Basic Pack is available for less than 390 euros (incl. VAT). For this price, sound quality is top-notch. Even at full volume, the sound never saturates!
